Children's Services Program Manager

The Ontario Municipal Social Services Association is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Children's Services to lead the effective administration and delivery of the Children's Services program within the City and County of Peterborough.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to support existing and new initiatives and services, in collaboration with partners from multiple sectors, including education, health, and child welfare systems.
- Manage cross-functional teams, designing and implementing new programs and strategic change initiatives, business processes, and standards to support the work of the Division and the Children Services program.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, standards, and various service and operating agreements.
- Lead stakeholder consultations to inform service planning, implementation of programs, and services delivered by the Division.
- Coordinate, monitor, and approve purchase of service agreements and lead request for proposal processes.
- Minimum 4-year University Degree in Social Sciences.
- Minimum 7 years related social services management experience.
- Experience working in the child care and early years sector and comprehensive knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act is ideal.
- Strong leadership, management, and team building skills.
- Proven interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively coach, motivate, and coordinate the work of others.
- Ability to support and facilitate positive work relationships in a unionized environment.
- Good public and employee relations skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, project management, planning, financial management/budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to the Child Care and Early Years Act, Child and Family Services Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Competitive salary range: $117,120-$128,021.
