Job Title: Governance and Legislative Analyst

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Governance and Legislative Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Policy Advice, Coordination and Engagement unit, you will play a critical role in advising on and coordinating key ministry policy, legislative, governance and strategic engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in and support the coordination of governance activities for the Ministry's public agencies.
  • Support legislative planning and development services for legislative and regulatory projects.
  • Provide advisory and governance services to the ministry and its public agencies in accordance with the Alberta Public Agencies Governance Act (APAGA) and other applicable legislation and GOA policies.
  • Lead/participate in the Ministry's process for managing recruitments and appointments to public agencies.
Requirements:
  • A university degree in Public Administration, Political Science or related field is preferred.
  • Plus two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal, written communication, and relationship building skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and understand how the fine details may have bigger implications.
