2nd Line Cook

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Cook to join our culinary team at CB Canada. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for the execution of menu item production, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and contributing to a positive and welcoming work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Item Production: Prepare, pre-cook, cook, and present menu items in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Preparation and Presentation: Prepare mise en place, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, and other products as required for high-volume production.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen equipment and utensils after use, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Inventory Management: Receive, label, date, store, and rotate inventory in designated storage areas.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, management, and other departments to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge, and contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations.
- Education and Qualifications: High school diploma; culinary education an asset.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of culinary experience; Red Seal certification through ITA or current enrollment in the program an asset.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing and walking for long periods; ability to lift, carry, push, pull, stretch, and bend; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The 2nd Cook will work in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment, with regular exposure to heat, cold, steam, noise, odors, and other kitchen hazards. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
