Position Overview

  • Conduct maintenance and repair operations on Transat's ground support equipment and both heavy and light vehicles.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with the company's trucks and vehicles.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on both conventional and diesel engines.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on a variety of equipment.
  • Engage in welding tasks.
  • Undertake any other related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are essential for the heavy vehicle technician role:

  • Formal training in vehicle mechanics or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in the mechanical sector.
  • Proficiency in bodywork with expertise in welding (MIG and TIG).
  • Experience and skills in painting.
  • Knowledge in electrical troubleshooting and blueprint interpretation is advantageous.
  • A strong eagerness to learn all facets of the profession.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate resourcefulness, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of propane, electric, diesel, and gasoline-powered equipment.
  • Possession of a valid MOT card (Transport Canada Pass).
  • Valid Class D driver's license.
