Structural Superintendent

We are seeking a qualified Structural & PAU's Superintendent to join our Mining team based out of Leroy, SK, Jansen Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing field construction activities from contractors such as:
- Install of pre-assembled units (PAU's) to enable a modularization construction.
- Heavy haul and heavy lifting.
- Erection of structural steel, including grouting and painting.
- Install of building architectural works and cladding.
The Structural & PAU's Superintendent will have the opportunity to work on the Hatch and Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. This project will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the effective implementation of Jansen Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) processes.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors' operations, including structural steel erection and pre-assembled units (PAU's) install.
- Monitor and ensure assigned construction contractor's activities and performance follows expectations.
- Validate the sequence of activities and level of effort, and provide support to the area manager to complete the execution analysis.
- Operate day-to-day ensuring that activities are prioritized in line with broader objectives.
- Liaise and coordinate with HBJV Field Engineering, Site Material Management, Contracts, Project Controls, Quality, HSE, Common Services and Commissioning.
- Actively engaged in workplace HSE.
- Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors' performance.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of heavy lift and heavy haul equipment, means & methods.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with others and lead people to high performance outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a recognized degree in an Engineering/Scientific discipline or a Technical College diploma from accredited institutions; or specialized courses in construction technology and management; and/or work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the field.
