Job Overview

To qualify for this role, candidates must reside in the Greater Toronto Area and possess the legal right to work in Canada. International applications are not being considered at this time.

The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of guest accommodations, including bedrooms, bathrooms, balconies, hallways, public areas, and emergency exits. This position provides essential support to room attendants in completing their tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct thorough cleaning of rooms following maintenance work

· Adhere to established cleanliness standards within guest rooms

· Timely transfer of guest supplies (e.g., toilet paper)

· Assist Room Attendants in ensuring all responsibilities for designated floors are fulfilled

Communication and Reporting

· Maintain open lines of communication with the Customer Care Centre and management to address any challenges or concerns

· Report any issues or deficiencies to management promptly

Guest Satisfaction

· Respond to guest inquiries effectively

· Deliver housekeeping items to guest rooms as instructed

· Strive for complete guest satisfaction

· Assist room attendants with the movement of furniture and the disposal of linens and waste

· Foster a positive working environment

Safety and Compliance

· Follow proper lifting techniques to prevent injury

· Identify and mitigate trip and fall hazards in corridors

· Comply with all safety regulations and grooming policies, ensuring nametags are visible at all times

· Wear the provided pager at all times

· Complete other tasks as assigned by management

· Ensure CDC calls are completed within the designated timeframe

· Maintain proper radio communication etiquette

· Ensure cleanliness of service areas and equipment

Experience and Skills Required

· Previous experience in housekeeping is advantageous

· Guest service experience is a plus

Personal Attributes

· Strong work ethic and dedication

· Effective communication skills

Language Proficiency

· Ability to understand and communicate in English

Physical Requirements

· Flexible availability is essential

· Capability to stand for extended periods

· Ability to lift and bend as necessary

· Competence in lifting heavy furniture when required
