Job Title: Data Governance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Manager to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our Global Data Governance team, you will play a critical role in shaping the growth and expansion of our data governance and data quality framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the deployment of data governance agenda globally to accelerate trust and utilization of data.
  • Collaborate to continuously refine global data quality framework and drive adoption of the framework by developing playbooks, accelerators, and training partners in data quality concepts.
  • Engage with partners at various levels of the organization to guide them in identifying critical data elements and setting up metrics linking data quality to business value.
  • Conduct hands-on data analysis to address high-priority data quality issues from issue identification through root cause analysis to issue resolution.
  • Implement global data governance metrics and oversight mechanisms to ensure delivery of target outcomes through the Data Governance program.
  • Partner with Technology teams to support adoption of data quality technology in the Azure Cloud environment and on-prem applications.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Global Data Governance team and Segment Data offices, Data Owners, and Control Partners to ensure data quality requirements are defined, captured, and communicated.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of data governance and data management related experience in a large multinational organization.
  • College/university degree in computer science, engineering, or another technology or quantitative field.
  • Mastery of data governance concepts and technologies, with hands-on experience using leading data quality software and data visualization products at scale.
  • Familiarity with foundational data architecture concepts and Cloud technology is a plus.
