About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Receiving Specialist to join our team at Mérieux NutriSciences. As a trusted partner in the food safety industry, we are committed to making food systems safer, healthier, and more sustainable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and log in samples in preparation for analysis, reviewing documentation to assign identification numbers and enter information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Contact clients to obtain and clarify missing or unclear information to ensure accurate identification of client codes, test codes, and sample contents.
  • Store samples in a controlled environment until analysis is completed and dispose of excess samples properly, maintaining sample integrity.
  • Prepare packages for shipping vendors, following procedures to send packages and maintain related documentation.
  • Assist client service personnel with developing customized client reports, collecting data, analyzing data, and developing reports.
  • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree and 1+ year of relevant work experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation skills to manipulate keyboards while entering sample information into the LIMS.
  • Broad knowledge of personal computer software and data entering skills to input data into the LIMS and generate special reports.
  • Organizational skills to keep track of samples and documentation.
  • Time management skills to ensure samples are prepared quickly for testing.
  • Written and oral communication skills to obtain or clarify test instructions with clients.
Work Environment

The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper temperature and lighting control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials may occur when in the laboratory. Must lift sample packages ranging from 10-50 pounds to complete job tasks. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a standing position. Physical dexterity is necessary to effectively manipulate a keyboard.
