Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Agent to join our team at Brightshores. As a Patient Service Agent, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Register and book patient appointments, ensuring accurate and timely scheduling
- Interview patients to gather necessary information and complete registration processes
- Confirm patient visits and provide clear instructions and information
- Support other business office functions, including general office administration, payroll, accounts receivable, and bank deposits
- Enter data accurately and efficiently using the Cerner Patient Information System
- Provide excellent interpersonal and communication skills to patients, families, and healthcare teams
- High school diploma and/or post-secondary medical secretarial education or equivalent
- Successful completion of PM Access training and testing
- Ability to utilize Cerner Patient Information System, including Admission, Discharge, and Transfer procedures, Electronic Scheduling Module, FirstNet, statistical verification, census reporting, and doctor order entry
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working on a switchboard and with accounts receivable functions
- Microsoft Office experience, including Word
- Typing speed of 30 WPM
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records
- Knowledge of and adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence)
