**Job Summary**

As a Small Account Manager with GFL Environmental, you will be responsible for managing existing accounts, focusing on retention while introducing new services to existing customers. You will also be responsible for developing new business opportunities within the commercial sector.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain good customer relations with existing and prospective customers – ability to assess and manage customer needs.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of waste management product and equipment pricing, costs, and application to better upsell and cross-sell to clients.
  • Work with sales and other internal teams to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are being met.
  • Provide price quotes and credit terms to potential customers and prepare sales contracts. Consult the Sales Manager prior to deviating from book rates.
  • Stay on top of accounts, making sure they receive services that are within their budget and meet their needs.
  • Meet regularly with other team members to discuss progress and find new ways to improve business.
  • Maintain awareness of the activities of all competitors.
  • Increase overall revenue by service increases and resigns to existing customers and generating new business.
  • Support the sales team with non-revenue account data entry.

**Qualifications & Requirements:**

  • 1-3+ years of experience with direct business-to-business sales and new business development.
  • Proven experience attracting, cultivating, and managing commercial accounts.
  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field is preferred.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with a strong work ethic and a proven track record for success.
  • Clean professional image and sense of pride that promotes a positive team spirit.
  • Exceptional customer service skills along with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Computer literate with proficient use of customer database systems and CRM tools.
  • Experience in waste management is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
