Senior Tunnels Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tunnels Engineering Manager to join our team at Black & Veatch. As a key member of our Geotechnical and Heavy Civil Business Line, you will be responsible for providing engineering and construction-related project management and technical oversight for domestic and international geotechnical and Heavy Civil projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering and construction-related project management and technical oversight for domestic and international geotechnical and Heavy Civil projects.
- Supervise multi-disciplinary engineering teams on projects of medium to high complexity and be responsible for the execution of assigned projects.
- Perform site visits of ongoing construction work and oversee geotechnical field investigations, which may require up to 30% field work.
- Prepare design materials for basic design assignments, including basic analysis, design calculations, equipment research, sketches, and other project requirements.
- Review manufacturer's drawings with respect to B&V design criteria and mark for conformance.
- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables.
- Plan and conduct independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Review lower-level engineering work or assignments.
- Coordinate design with other personnel working on the same project to minimize design conflicts.
- Perform special studies or analyses of specific portions of a project, including research, investigation, or coordination.
- Coordinate with personnel in other departments and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern.
- Supervise the engineering work of assigned Drafters, Designers, and subordinate Engineers, including work assignments, scheduling, and review.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for an assigned portion of a major project or the total project of moderate scope.
- Develop alternate methods, techniques, or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems.
We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program and a minimum of 11 years of related work experience. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience performing engineering-related duties with previous experience in Tunneling, Dams, Buried Infrastructure, Linear Infrastructure, and/or Hydropower.

Work Environment/Physical Demands- Hybrid Work Schedule (3 Days in Office/2 days Remote)
- Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).
