About the Opportunity

The Department of Pathology at Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking to appoint three Pathologists within the Division of Anatomical Pathology.

These roles are intended for Pathologists with specialized knowledge in the following fields:
- Genitourinary Pathology (currently the area of highest demand)
- Breast Pathology
- Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology.
Expertise and/or training in Molecular Pathology or Cytopathology is highly valued.

The selected candidates will be expected to engage in resident education for DPM and DCP residents, perform frozen section duties, and participate in evening and weekend on-call rotations.

Participation in the autopsy service may also be required, depending on individual expertise and interest.

The successful applicants will join a dedicated team of 28 professionals in the Division of Anatomical Pathology.

The Division handles approximately 50,000 surgical pathology cases annually, alongside 40,000 gynecological cytopathology cases and 9,000 non-gynecological cytopathology cases.

We are proud to offer a dynamic and expanding Molecular Pathology service. The position encompasses clinical responsibilities, as well as a commitment to medical education and research.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess Canadian certification in Diagnostic and Molecular/Anatomical Pathology or Diagnostic and Clinical/General Pathology. The successful candidates will also be eligible for a faculty position commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
