Position Summary

The Liquid Propane Sales Specialist is responsible for marketing and selling liquid propane within a designated territory. This role involves acquiring new clients and enhancing sales volume among existing customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a systematic route for client engagement within the delivery area.
  2. Serve as the primary sales representative for FS System in the assigned territory.
  3. Follow established sales and marketing strategies while participating in training sessions.
  4. Achieve sales targets set by management.
  5. Utilize FS credit and Agri-Finance as effective sales tools.
  6. Document sales and delivery data accurately on a daily basis.
  7. Maintain a list of potential clients and actively pursue new business opportunities.
  8. Prepare sales contracts and order forms efficiently.
  9. Communicate promotional programs and distribute marketing materials to clients.
  10. Ensure compliance with company credit policies and assess customer credit histories prior to sales.
  11. Secure signed equipment lease agreements before servicing accounts.
  12. Manage accounts receivable in accordance with company policies.
  13. Address customer complaints promptly to ensure satisfactory resolutions.
  14. Maintain inventory levels and adhere to company standards to minimize losses.
  15. Fulfill orders from stock and deliver propane products as needed.
  16. Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
  17. Keep accurate records of company-owned tanks and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Conduct pressure tests to verify system integrity when necessary.
  2. Maintain records of regulators and perform necessary replacements.
  3. Execute leak tests on customer systems as required.
  4. Adhere to FS System's Code of Conduct and all relevant safety regulations.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of one year of sales experience. Essential skills include strong business acumen, effective communication, customer focus, and decision-making abilities. A valid selling or solicitor's license may be required, and candidates must achieve and maintain Certified Propane Specialist certification. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement is also necessary.

Physical demands include the ability to travel independently within the sales territory, lift weights of 51-70 lbs, and work in various weather conditions. Flexibility to work beyond standard hours is expected.
