Job Title: Driver Trainer

Job Summary:

The Erb Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Trainer to join our team. As a Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for onboarding and training new and current drivers at our Mississauga terminal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for drivers, including in-cab ride-alongs and road tests.
  • Train and assist local and cross-border drivers, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements and standards.
  • Conduct safety meetings and deliver pre-selected topics to drivers, ensuring attendance is recorded.
  • Assist in interviewing and screening prospective drivers and brokers, working closely with the Driver Supervisor.
  • Perform log auditing and driver record maintenance, adhering to U.S. file requirements.
  • Coach drivers on DriveCam events, maintaining an overdue coaching threshold of less than 10%.
  • Support recruitment functions, including terminal job fairs and industry truck shows.
  • Ensure compliance with electronic driver files and perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Valid AZ/Class 1 License
  • MTO signing authority is an asset
  • 2-5 years of previous commercial driving experience required
  • Disciplined and detail-oriented with a commitment to follow policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with Operations staff, drivers, and the Driver Supervisor
  • Knowledge of the trucking industry
  • Willingness to advance education
  • Team player
