Position Overview:

As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, you will report directly to the Manager of External Communications. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate effectively with various business units to fulfill the communication requirements that align with OTIP's strategic objectives and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and refine communications intended for broad distribution by proofreading and editing materials, ensuring they meet accuracy standards and adhere to brand guidelines while coordinating necessary translations.
  • Assist the communications team in crafting, publishing, and managing content on the corporate website.
  • Develop communication materials, which encompass writing and coordinating articles, letters, internal and external reports, presentations, newsletters, forms, and more.
  • Collaborate with the team to create and manage mass email communications and oversee their distribution.
  • Oversee various communications email accounts, ensuring timely forwarding of messages to relevant business units, escalating issues, identifying trends, and responding appropriately.
  • Manage the translations email account, including updating documents related to translation requests, liaising with freelancers, and addressing client inquiries as necessary.
  • Support the management and promotion of OTIP's corporate giving initiatives, including communication and administrative tasks associated with these programs.
  • Assist in maintaining the processes, templates, and tools utilized by Corporate Communications.
  • Ensure the consistency and integrity of the OTIP brand across diverse communication platforms, including monitoring the use of corporate logos on products and publications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within your area of expertise.

Qualifications:

This role is ideal for candidates who possess the following:

  • A university degree or college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field.
  • One to three years of experience in a communications-related position.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with a strong command of the Canadian Press style guide.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, digital marketing tools, and social media platforms.
  • Excellent time-management, project management, and organizational skills to handle competing priorities effectively.
  • A proven ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the insurance sector and/or the Ontario educational system is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate in French is considered a plus.
