The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer and Safety Coordinator to join our team as a Full-time employee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform light maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Respond to repair calls and perform safety checks on equipment.
  • Conduct maintenance on the boiler and ensure its safe operation.
  • Provide new employee orientation and training.
  • Manage forklift operations and oversee inventory management.
  • Conduct plant inspections, focusing on safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Lead plant walk-throughs with guests and contractors.
  • Report and follow up on WCB injuries.
  • Develop and implement staff safety training programs.
  • Chair Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Attend safety meetings with the Zone Supervisor.
  • Organize safety binders and paperwork.
  • Conduct fire drills and safety audits.
  • Assist other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in similar positions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Class 5 Steam Ticket required.
  • Building operator/building maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Forklift license is an asset.
