Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Alarm Technician to join our team at Frontier Technologies. As a key member of our Structured Communications team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing timelines, and offering technical expertise in the installation, repair, and service of Alarm and Access Control systems, security systems, and wireless infrastructure.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation and maintenance of Security and access control systems, including pre-wiring, installing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration with Operations to meet project timelines and ensure efficient work.
  • Reading designs and plans for various system installations, including structured wiring and termination of Cat 5E, Cat 6, and fibre.
  • Designing and implementing security, access control, and monitoring systems, including Kantech, DSC, Mircom, and ICT certified systems.
  • Troubleshooting systems, equipment, and wiring, and providing customer training for proper system usage.
  • Training new technicians and coordinating timelines.
  • Completing detailed and accurate paperwork and reporting as necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary training in electronics or equivalent considered an asset.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Security System manufacturer certifications are an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years industry experience (DSC, Kantech, ICT, etc.).
  • Certification in low voltage is preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with satisfactory driver's abstract.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening.
