About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Estimator to join our team at Altima Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and detailed estimates for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze tenders and recommend awards, taking into account factors such as cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and cost control.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms, as well as maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing clear and concise information on project costs and progress.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in estimating software and tools.
