Employee Relations Manager - Indigenous Peoples

Scotiabank is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment that reflects the communities we serve. We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our team and contribute to the overall success of our Employee Relations and Labour Relations business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and finalize medium/high risk cases in support of designated business lines/subsidiaries/countries, ensuring compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Manage cases independently, providing value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners.
  • Conduct formal investigations into allegations of serious misconduct, collaborating with the Employment Law Group and Corporate Security as needed.
  • Lead employee interviews, analyzing facts and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership to mitigate legal risk to the Bank.
  • Work with HR Business Partners to plan the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives, identifying trends and providing insights to Senior Leadership and HR Business Partners.
  • Promote a seamless and consistent experience for employees and People Managers with ER/LR issues and concerns, updating and maintaining accurate information in the ER/LR case file.
