Payroll Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Accounting Specialist to join our Corporate Finance team at OMERS. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing and validating payroll accounting requirements across OMERS and Oxford Properties.
Key Responsibilities- Process and validate payroll accounting requirements, including domestic and international payrolls.
- Partner with various stakeholders to execute critical activities related to payroll accounting feeds and entries.
- Streamline and optimize processes and controls governing the recording of payroll costs in the general ledger.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business operations and develop strategies for streamlining procedures.
- Prepare and upload weekly/bi-weekly/monthly payroll journal entries, bank and other general ledger reconciliations, and variance and trend analyses.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Payroll Advisory, Property Managers, and other accounting and FP&A teams.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting entries, ideally with experience in payroll accounting.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for questioning conventional methods and identifying areas for improvement.
- Adaptable mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
- Results-oriented and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- High standards of business and ethical values, with the ability to deal with confidential information.
