About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking dedicated physicians to become part of their hospitalist team. This team consists of family medicine practitioners who are passionate about inpatient care. Options for both full-time and part-time positions are available. The work schedule includes 7 consecutive days, with a call rotation of 1:4 for overnight responsibilities.

- Emergency medicine

- Otolaryngology
- Palliative care
- Physiotherapy
- Volunteer services

Responsibilities
  • Manage admissions from the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Maternal Child Unit.
  • Participate in on-call duties.
  • Provide care for all patients enrolled in the hospitalist program during on-call hours.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from nursing staff.
Expected Hours

Both full-time and part-time options are available, with the possibility of negotiating frequency.

Typical hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM daily, throughout the scheduled week.

Compensation is structured at a daily rate for full-time positions, with additional remuneration for on-call nights and fee-for-service billings for after-hours consultations.

Qualifications

Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the appropriate regulatory body.

Certification eligibility with the relevant professional organization is required.

Membership with the medical protective association is also necessary.
