The Information Access Supervisor will lead a dynamic team focused on supporting, educating, and guiding our clients while balancing privacy rights with the need for transparency, accuracy, and innovation.
The Access to Information Unit is tasked with managing requests for information from claim files made by employers, workers, and their representatives. Timely responses are crucial for helping stakeholders understand entitlement decisions, worker capabilities for return-to-work processes, and preparing necessary documentation for appeals, thereby reinforcing our commitment to fairness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Articulate corporate objectives and strategies to the team effectively.
- Guide, mentor, and develop a team of 30 staff members through performance evaluations, recruitment, and engagement initiatives.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to meet team and unit goals.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and the Appeals Commission to address issues and enhance service delivery.
- Engage directly with workers, employers, and their representatives to address inquiries and foster positive relationships.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for management.
- Oversee the team's budget responsibly while ensuring adequate resources are allocated.
- Actively contribute to creating a safe and healthy work environment.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of WCB operations and collaborate with other management teams.
- Work in conjunction with other units to facilitate a safe and timely return to work for injured employees.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Management or a related field is preferred.
- Proven supervisory experience in leadership, recruitment, performance management, and team development is essential.
- Exceptional communication, decision-making, planning, and customer service skills are required.
- Proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with WCB technology is crucial.
- Certification in Supervisory Development and experience in project management are advantageous.
- Understanding of the Workers' Compensation Act and WCB policies is necessary.
- Knowledge of the FOIP Act and its application is beneficial.
Compensation: Pay Grade 12, ranging from $89,984 to $105,848 annually.
This position is temporary for a duration of up to one year, with the potential for extension or permanent placement. Candidates selected for this role will be required to undergo a security clearance as part of the hiring process.
