Job Title: Registered Nurse

About the Role:

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Campus Wellness. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary medical care and mental health services to students and their dependents, utilizing an inclusive, connected, and collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Care Delivery: Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting, adhering to standards established by the College of Nurses.
  • Assessment and Documentation: Assess each patient's state of physical or mental health, provide recommendations, and accurately document information in a comprehensive manner.
  • Accountability: Provide care in complex situations with unpredictable outcomes, while maintaining confidentiality standards of nursing practice.
  • Priority Setting: Independently identify acuity levels using accepted triage practices.
  • Adaptability: Rotate between Student and Family Health Clinics, functioning within all nursing assignments within Campus Wellness, with a focus on efficient medical services.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Certification: RN graduate from a recognized School of Nursing, member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and current CPR or Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years providing patient care across the age continuum, dealing with a spectrum of healthcare issues, and experience with principles of health promotion, including immunizations, communicable diseases, sexual health, and harm reduction measures.
  • Skills and Abilities: Highly developed ability to organize time, set priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and make clinical decisions within their professional domain.
