Accounting Manager Role at EllisDon

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at EllisDon. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in assisting with day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the year-end external audit
  • Lead the accounting department/team
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
  • Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to EllisDon divisions
  • Participate in control processes such as review and approval of payments, invoices, and purchase orders
  • Perform research on technical accounting matters
  • Assist with financial system implementations and updates
  • Identify risk areas and design, recommend, implement and monitor controls and other processes
Requirements:
  • Strong accounting background
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the construction industry
  • Public accounting experience is an asset
  • Well-organized, proactive and detail-oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Highly technical accountant with strong attention to detail and ability to offer process improvements and innovative solutions
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
