About the Role

Metrolinx is seeking a highly skilled Safety Risk Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Safety and System Assurance Department, you will play a critical role in managing the organization's safety risks and ensuring the protection of employees, the public, passengers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective safety risk management strategies to mitigate potential hazards and ensure operational safety.
  • Collaborate with business units and external stakeholders to apply safety risk management processes, standards, systems, and procedures.
  • Provide safety risk management guidance, training, and advice to business units and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate safety workshops to collect safety data and identify potential safety risks.
  • Analyze safety data to categorize, estimate, and prioritize safety risks.
  • Develop and maintain the Safety Risk Scorecard to provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Recommend ways to maximize safety awareness and promote a positive safety culture.
Requirements
  • Completion of a degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in safety risk management, safety assessments, and/or safety investigations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide expertise and advice to colleagues and management.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and data visualization tools.
