Job Overview

We are seeking new graduate engineers to support upstream operations in Eastern Canada. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on two world-class offshore facilities, Hibernia and Hebron, and will be working alongside some of the most talented Engineers in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Real-time monitoring of active drill wells and/or well work operations, including cost/time performance, drilling mechanics performance, drilling fluid properties, directional profile progress, torque/drag, and broader technical problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Modelling to better understand well performance and drilling mechanics.
  • Interface cross-functionally (Geology, Reservoir, Facilities, Production) to develop the most economic options for new well designs and/or performing remedial/diagnostic well work.
  • Evaluating drilling technologies and various industry drilling practices.
  • Implement effective solutions to health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Participate in well hazard and operability studies, including risk analyses.
  • Spend time at drilling facilities offshore to support active drill wells and/or well work operations.
Requirements
  • Recent graduate with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or another accredited engineering discipline in Canada, recent defined as within the past 3 years.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to interface cross-functionally within the organization and with internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
  • Strong commitment to safety both on and off the job.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work with a minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
  • Previous petroleum industry experience is considered beneficial, but not essential.
  • Strong leadership qualities consistent with the ExxonMobil Leadership Framework.
  • Initiative, independence and accountability for tasks and understanding impacts on the business.
