Position Overview

The role of an On-Call Early Childhood Educator is essential in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for young learners. This position is part of the Children's Centre and involves collaboration with fellow educators and the Centre for Childhood Studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of programs and operations of the Child Care Facility, adhering to the child care legislation and regulations of British Columbia.
  • Provide guidance and create a supportive learning atmosphere, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of children.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with the BC Community Care and Assisted Living Act's Child Care Licensing Regulations.
  • Encourage a play-based, family-centered early learning program that allows children to explore and engage with their surroundings.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Early Childhood Education diploma program, including the Early Childhood Education certificate, Special Needs Education license, and/or Infant/Toddler Education license.
  • Strong understanding of the BC Early Learning Framework and the ability to apply it effectively.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a child care setting within the last two years.
  • Possession of a valid safety-oriented first-aid certificate.
