POSITION OVERVIEW

The Gas Technician plays a crucial role in executing both preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as routine and urgent services on mechanical and electrical systems within various facilities. This position requires adherence to established protocols and compliance with both internal and external regulations, particularly those related to environmental, health, safety, and fire protection.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Executing tasks in alignment with established protocols and procedures.
  • Adhering to all relevant internal and external regulations, including those pertaining to environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Conducting regular inspections and monitoring of facility systems and components.
  • Providing insights regarding the condition of facility systems and suggesting improvements or repairs.
  • Monitoring assigned facilities through systematic walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Addressing routine and urgent service requests promptly.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and repair tasks on non-technical components within the facility.
  • Documenting resolution data in the service maintenance management system, ensuring compliance with quality and contractual obligations.
  • Tracking and reporting the status of maintenance and repair tasks within the service management database.
  • Assisting in the execution of the preventative maintenance program, ensuring deficiencies are recorded and escalated appropriately.
  • Participating in facility-related projects as needed.
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with corporate policies and legal requirements regarding environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Maintaining all assigned tools and coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Submitting all expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Contributing to tenant and customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

  • Willingness to utilize personal protective equipment as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience in facility operations and maintenance.
  • High school education.
  • Trade-related training is an advantage.
  • Ability to follow and implement processes related to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Competence in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing non-technical facility components.
  • Capacity to assess facility conditions and propose enhancements or repairs.
  • Willingness to learn and apply knowledge of fire, life safety, and building codes.
  • Strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety practices.
  • Excellent client-service orientation and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills for data exchange and clarification.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Interest in pursuing trades certification or licensing.
  • Valid driver's license.
