Job Title: Tour Guide

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tour Guide to join our team at Rocky Mountain Scenic Tours Ltd. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading groups of tourists through scenic routes, providing information about the local culture, history, and attractions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive sightseeing or tour vehicle to transport tourists to various destinations
  • Confirm transportation and accommodation reservations to ensure a smooth tour experience
  • Collect administration or entrance fees from tourists as required
  • Co-ordinate recreation activities and provide information about local attractions
  • Describe points of interest, answer questions, and supply information to tourists
  • Resolve itinerary and other problems that may arise during the tour
  • Ensure and monitor luggage transfers to ensure that tourists' belongings are safe and secure
  • Assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and/or transportation
  • Utilize microphones or other communication devices to provide directions and other pertinent information to visitors
  • Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups
  • Provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion, and other details to tourists
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs and provide support as required
  • Conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions, and historical, heritage, and other sites, answer inquiries, and provide information
  • Transport or escort individuals or groups on tours of cities, waterways, and industrial and other establishments
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Dependability, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
