About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Youth Care Specialist to join our team at Blue Sky Family Care Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to clients in our group home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Assessment and Support
    • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and eligibility for specific services
    • Develop and implement personalized support plans to meet clients' unique needs
  • Service Coordination
    • Coordinate and deliver specific services within the community, ensuring seamless support for clients
    • Collaborate with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Crisis Intervention and Conflict Resolution
    • Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, ensuring clients' safety and well-being
    • Resolve conflicts and disputes in a fair and respectful manner
  • Supervision and Program Implementation
    • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, promoting a safe and supportive environment
    • Implement behavior management programs, promoting positive outcomes for clients
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of support plans and services
    • Liaise with other agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology)
    • Experience in a group home or similar setting, with a focus on child and youth care
  • Certifications and Clearances
    • First Aid Certificate
    • Criminal record check
    • Child Abuse Registry check
    • Child welfare check
