About the Role

MistyWest is seeking a highly skilled Firmware Development Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing firmware for our connected products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop firmware for our connected products, including BLE, WiFi, and LTE devices
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to identify software and firmware requirements, plan architecture, and communicate with the project team
  • Develop and maintain embedded Linux applications, drivers, and firmware for microcontrollers
  • Collaborate with our team to bring up and debug hardware using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other tools
  • Develop low-level drivers and application-level firmware for our products
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in firmware development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in firmware and software development
  • Proven track record of developing firmware and embedded software for connected products
  • Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, kernel-level programming, and driver development
  • Experience with unit testing, static analysis tools, and automated test suites
  • Excellent knowledge of software development practices, testing, and revision control
  • Experience with Zephyr development and Nordic BLE Chips
  • Well-versed in various sensors and technologies
Nice to Have
  • Experience with LTE CAT M1 Modules and WiFi Chips
  • Experience with GNSS-based applications and Altium for schematic capture and layout
