About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Atlantic George Limited. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our buildings, including repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Contact contractors as needed to perform major repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operation.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
  • Supervise other workers as needed to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair to maintain the appearance and integrity of our buildings.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and perform other physically demanding tasks.

  • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
  • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
