Overview:

Toromont Cat is actively looking for a Conventional Machinist to enhance our service operations. In this role, you will be essential in delivering technical support to guarantee exceptional service in the repair and fabrication of components and structures within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the highest safety standards, ensuring a secure work environment in accordance with company health and safety protocols.
  • Utilize electric, acetylene, semi-automatic welding apparatus, and automatic burning tools effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality repairs on Caterpillar machinery, adhering to established timeframes.
  • Operate conventional machine tools for precision boring on heavy machinery and attachments.
  • Manage a mobile Climax-style machine tool for axis boring tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education with a welding certification.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with conventional machining tools.
  • Certification in CWB GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW, or relevant experience as a machinist for heavy-duty or diesel machinery.
  • Familiarity with line boring techniques is advantageous.
