Job Title: Intermediate Homeroom Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Sherwood Heights School as an Intermediate Homeroom Teacher.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies to students in the intermediate grade level. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of teaching at this age group and have demonstrated success in teaching this age group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Apply innovative classroom management techniques to create a positive and productive learning environment
  • Communicate student progress to parents on an ongoing basis and formally as required by the grade reporting protocol
  • Collaborate with other teachers to plan and implement dynamic instruction in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree and good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound instructional practices and classroom management methods
  • Genuine interest in helping students academically, emotionally, and socially
  • Strong collaborative skills
  • Flexibility and ability to contribute positively to the school environment
