Job Summary

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a skilled and experienced Class 5 driver with an air brake endorsement. As a transportation specialist, you will be responsible for operating a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and operate a commercial truck with a lift mechanism to transport containers to customer sites.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the commercial vehicle and lift to ensure safe operation.
  • Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Use company-provided handheld devices for delivery verification and navigation.
  • Operate a forklift when necessary to facilitate container handling and storage.
  • Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery to customers.
  • Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers as required.
  • Communicate with the Driver Lead or Storage Center Market Manager on customer inquiries and issues, and prepare driver notes as needed.
  • Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide backup support for storage center functions as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab, ensuring it remains free from debris and clutter.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Commercial license with air brake endorsement.
  • Valid driver's license from the province of residence.
  • No moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (if required for the license in the province of residence).
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software.
  • Math skills sufficient to perform required duties.

Working Conditions
  • Shift start times may vary.
  • Some additional hours may be required, including Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Required to work overtime as needed.
  • Travel requirements: within the location territory.
  • Storage centers may not be climate-controlled, except for specific areas.
  • Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
