Packaging Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Engineering Specialist to join our team at Ferrero. As a key member of our packaging development team, you will be responsible for leading industrialization plans for our Premium Chocolate brands across North America, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Industrialization Planning: Develop and implement industrialization plans for Premium Chocolate brands, meeting timing, cost, and quality requirements.
- Technical Feasibility Studies: Evaluate technical and economic feasibility studies during project industrialization phase and develop new proposals to optimize industrial setup pertaining to packaging lines.
- Project Objectives: Contribute to defining project objectives (technical solutions, material types) based on North American industrial and co-packing capabilities and on material suppliers' technology & product portfolio.
- Packaging Optimization: Optimize existing products for the assigned brand across North America, analyzing possible packaging value chain related improvements to efficiency, complexity, waste, recyclability, and quality improvement.
- Industrial Trials: Manage packaging industrial trials, examine and report on outcomes in order to drive Design decisions during project development phase Ensures industrial trials are completed on time.
- Supply Chain Management: Industrialize packaging material de-risking plans working with alternative vendors and stakeholders across the packaging supply chain.
- Cost Estimation: Analyze and validate cost estimations to support project setup from an economic point of view.
- Packaging Specifications: Define and document packaging specifications for all developments deployed in both industrial and co-packing environments.
- Communication: Represent the Packaging development (DPU) team in local meetings, including with external partners, to activate programs focused on new solutions (e.g.: materials, technologies, and processes).
- Information Sharing: Ensures through structured governance, information sharing among all necessary stakeholders as it relates to the projects under management.
- Supplier Partnerships: Partner with the leadership team of a major Ferrero industrial plant relevant to the assigned brands, representing the interests, responsibilities, and voice of the Packaging Development team.
- Technology Development: Explore and develop new packaging technology required to support innovative packaging design through partnerships with leading edge suppliers.
- Best Practices: Deploy and share best practices within the Packaging Development team across global geographic Areas.
- Collaboration: Collaborate through various company functions to problem solve and improve project flow.
- Computer Systems: Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), and Design programs (i.e Autocad, Illustrator, ArtiosCAD).
- Knowledge Requirements: 4+ years of experience, knowledge of packaging component design, packaging materials (corrugated board, paper board, rigid plastics & film), packaging test methods, production processes, and packaging machinery.
- Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deal with people from all levels & different departments, project management and risk management skills, strong math and analytical skills, strong organization skills, ability to work in both a team environment and independently, ability to make educated decisions, accountability and reliability.
- Education: Graduate of Industrial Packaging Programs preferred.
