Senior Sustainability Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sustainability Analyst to join our Sustainability and Climate Change Measurement & Reporting team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our climate strategy, providing evidence-based recommendations, and driving business growth through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain our annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Footprint in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
- Analyze large volumes of complex data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Calculate and monitor sustainability and climate performance metrics, define KPIs, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain effective documentation and records management in accordance with corporate directives.
- Support the development and implementation of projects for our decarbonization strategy.
- Monitor our progress against sustainability and decarbonization targets.
- Act as a subject matter expert to support and engage with various areas of the business.
- Develop broad knowledge of operational business initiatives through close engagement with business partners.
- Recommend and lead continuous improvement efforts to improve completeness, accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of sustainability reporting.
- Stay informed of sustainability reporting and broader ESG industry trends and provide recommendations to ensure stakeholders are represented.
- Support climate disclosure reporting to programs such as the CDP and SASB.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, sustainability, or accounting; P.Eng., CPA, or equivalent an asset.
- 5 years of work experience in progressive analytical roles.
- Experience in GHG accounting quantification, verification, and reporting. GHG and/or carbon accounting certification is an asset.
- Detailed knowledge of climate change-related issues, greenhouse gas emissions, and science-based targets.
- Solid understanding of the GHG protocol, climate disclosure programs, ESG ratings, and sustainability frameworks.
- Solid understanding of municipal and provincial regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements for energy and water consumption in buildings.
- Experience with LCA databases and product carbon footprints.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, detailed-oriented, curious nature, and a motivated self-starter with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of stakeholders up to and including executive level.
