We are seeking a highly skilled Product Management & Sourcing Manager to join our team at Lawson Products. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for identifying market nuances and developing a product offering and sourcing plan to meet country-specific objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze market data to identify opportunities and threats that could impact the product offering.
- Product Development: Define and manage the nuances of the Canadian product offering, prepare business plans for product additions, and manage the lifecycle of this product offering.
- Sourcing Strategy: Define the sourcing strategy for our Canadian business, balancing cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Work in conjunction with key Canadian business leaders and the Product Management and Purchasing teams.
- Market Research: Refine the product assortment to fit customer needs and company goals, conduct market research, and analyze market data.
- Pricing and Branding: Implement pricing and branding strategies developed by upper management to optimize revenue, margin, and inventory.
- Marketing Campaigns: Create and participate in promotional campaigns to increase product awareness and market share.
- Product Maintenance: Review, maintain, and report on product categories.
- Industry Events: Attend and participate in industry conferences, conventions, and trade shows.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate product management activities with multiple departments and branch personnel, work to ensure a stable and quality vendor base, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal product quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience: 7 years of multi-functional supply chain, purchasing, and/or product management experience in a distribution or manufacturing company.
- Certifications: APICS Certified (CPIM) or equivalent required.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to utilize data to solve issues or improve processes, in-depth experience using ERP systems, and ability to synthesize large amounts of data creating management reports.
- Communication: Ability to professionally present findings and recommendations to senior executives, guide and influence all levels of the organization, and self-motivated with a proven track record of success in similar and related Supply Chain/Purchasing/Product Management roles.
