Business Standards Analyst: Training and Change Management Specialist

Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Business Standards Analyst to join our team in the Recovery Branch. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining business tools and processes that support the work of the Recovery Branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain branch training plans and frameworks to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Work with business areas to clearly define and document training requirements for all roles and functions, ensuring that training is tailored to meet the needs of our staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver existing training material in collaboration with functional subject matter experts, ensuring that training is engaging and effective.
  • Implement reporting and evaluation activities for training to measure its effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute plans to modernize and improve organizational knowledge management and succession planning, ensuring that our staff have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Take lead in planning and executing change management on project teams, ensuring that changes are implemented smoothly and with minimal disruption.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide business analysis services to Recovery Branch staff at all levels to identify and help address a wide variety of needs related to Recovery projects and day-to-day business processes.
  • Support or cover on other projects led by the team in the event of absence or other capacity constraints.
  • Provide support to internal and external projects in accordance with project management principles, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective decision-making skills, including analyzing, fact finding, judgement, problem-solving, risk assessment, and innovative thinking.
  • Effective presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a multi-priority, sensitive-issue, team environment, with a high degree of autonomy and independence.
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills to work on multiple projects at one time, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to create buy-in and build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners.
