In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with the product owner and technical navigator to develop backlog, sprint plans, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Assist the technical navigator in ensuring all lab ceremonies are executed to facilitate essential feedback loops.
  • Act as the lab technology lead, offering coaching, guidance, and direction on technical design and solutions.
  • As a senior developer, create and configure solutions on ServiceNow, including workflows, integrations, scripts, and user interfaces, adhering to SMT development and architectural standards.
  • Oversee vendor governance in the lab by ensuring vendor requirements, solutions, and code align with Service Management Technology design principles, Scotiabank Reference Architecture, and SMT Coding standards.
  • Provide effort estimates and timing recommendations related to projects, offering technical leadership and supervising vendor work.
  • Engage with architecture teams to design effective solutions and ensure that technical documentation is consistently maintained.
  • Coordinate with other labs and their domain leads to address and resolve dependencies.
  • Manage L2/L3 support and platform upgrades related to applications, modules, and components, including leading incident management efforts.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth expertise in your functional area, focusing on policy (e.g., ITIL) and tooling (ServiceNow certifications), while providing insights to the product owner for valuable new features.
  • Work diligently to reduce technical debt within the Scotia ServiceNow platform, creating solutions that minimize customization and enhance speed and user experience.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture influence daily activities and decision-making.

Do you possess the skills that will enable you to excel in this role? We would be eager to collaborate with you if you have:

  • A diploma or degree in Computer Science or related experience, with strong JavaScript skills.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or training.
  • ServiceNow Advanced System Administrator certification; ServiceNow Scripting certification is a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with ServiceNow across various modules/applications.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on development experience in general module configuration on the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills.
  • A passion for leading teams and developing coaching abilities.
