About the Team

The Global Wholesale and Risk Technology Team plays a vital role within the Global Technologies Applications group. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in the dynamic field of Capital Markets. We are seeking an Application Support Specialist to enhance our energetic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line application support, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders across Front & Middle Office, Product Control, Risk Management, Back Office, Application Development, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure adherence to incident and change management protocols, working closely with various internal teams to report on progress and identify necessary improvements for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee service delivery resolutions by escalating issues, leading service recovery initiatives, and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Deliver daily support to global units to tackle complex business challenges, including product and deal structuring, ad hoc inquiries, user training, and assisting in system enhancement design and implementation.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of financial instruments, market conventions, valuation methods, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements, along with a solid understanding of Back Office processes and workflows across Front, Middle, and Back Offices in at least one financial market sector (e.g., foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives) and familiarity with at least one additional sector.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies, risk management methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, instruments, and evolving technologies to provide effective solutions and services to end-user business lines.
  • Exhibit creativity, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills to independently resolve intricate business issues.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to foster consensus.
  • Provide after-hours support through an on-call system on a rotational basis, particularly during application releases or maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and products, especially Derivative Products.
  • Extensive experience in log analysis, application monitoring, and vendor application analysis tools.
  • Client service-oriented with experience interfacing with trading desks.
  • Familiarity with MarkitWire; knowledge of WSS and ICELink is advantageous.
  • Experience in supporting trading systems and understanding the trade flow from front to back, with the ability to assess systems/components for trade discrepancies, connectivity, and data issues.
