About the Role:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager - Mining/Remediation to lead our team in delivering the Giant Mine Remediation Project. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing the project from design to close-out, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructability inputs.
  • Manage project planning, execution, and close-out, including development of internal budgetary estimates and schedules.
  • Develop scopes of work and tender packages, and participate in bid evaluations and contract awarding.
  • Manage contractor onboarding, document submittals, and approvals to facilitate mobilization and construction execution.
  • Ensure compliance to scope, schedule, budget, daily and weekly reporting, quality of work, safety, and environment.
  • Manage requests for information processes and flow, and compliance to the change order process and procedures.
  • Maintain, track, and report on project deliverables, including schedule, cost, quality of work, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Effectively communicate and lead with construction superintendents, inspectors, QA/QC coordinators, finance, procurement, document control, planning, scheduling, and estimators, and contractors.
  • Assist the Construction Manager in resolving issues related to cost, schedule, or quality, and assist the Mine Manager, H&S Manager, and Environmental Manager in ensuring HS&E awareness and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly reports on work package progress, including schedule and budget compliance assessment, for delivery to the Construction Manager and Senior Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • A degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Geology, or a directly related technical field, or significant experience in lieu of a degree/diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management, construction management, specifically in developing project requirements and plans, preparing cost estimates, participating in contract bidding and award processes, managing projects in execution phase, and managing project closeout.
  • 3+ years of work experience in heavy civil, northern mining, or remediation projects.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Northern Canada is an asset.
  • Knowledgeable of industry practices and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of current technologies and how they can be effectively utilized on projects.
  • Professional designation (or the ability to obtain one) as a professional geologist, engineer, CET, and a PMP designation is preferable.
  • Experience managing on-site activities of multiple subcontractors.
  • Experience addressing and resolving issues such as poor performance by subcontractors.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate members of a team.
