About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at 2528131 ONTARIO INC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained, and train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and manage kitchen operations, including ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Staff Management: Recruit and hire staff, and manage kitchen staff to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant or urban area.
  • Language: English.
Working Conditions
  • Overtime: Overtime may be required.
  • Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, and working under pressure.
