About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer II to join our team at SitePoint Pty. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our software products and ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of software products, including design, implementation, and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and code reviews.
  • Identify and prioritize technical debt, and lead efforts to resolve and prevent future technical debt.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and make recommendations for adoption and integration.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience as a software engineer, including familiarity with modern web application development.
  • Experience with Ruby, Rails, and PostgreSQL, as well as other relevant technologies.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and ability to design and implement scalable systems.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and Kafka.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
