About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at R.A.M CONTRACTING LTD. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts and designs for building projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, steel, and other materials to create structures and fixtures.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on carpentry techniques and best practices.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Work Environment

As a Carpenter, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads and working at heights. You will be required to wear safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles.

Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant training and certifications are an asset.
  • Excellent physical stamina, with the ability to lift heavy loads and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliability, accuracy, and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
