Technical Designer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join our team at Next Level Games, a subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd. Our studio has been passionate about video game development for 20 years, shipping award-winning games for fans worldwide.

About the Role

As a Technical Designer, you will play a crucial bridge between our tech and design teams, providing support and expertise to ensure seamless collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining level creation pipelines
  • Interface with design and engineering teams to propose and support solutions to level-specific features
  • Designing and promoting shared tech solutions to gameplay and level needs
  • Promoting and maintaining technical standards within performance budget constraints
  • Liaising as a technical expert with supporting departments
  • Helping test new features and tools and providing feedback for possible improvements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Maya skills
  • Understanding of Python/PyMel
  • Knowledge of C/C++, C#/.NET
  • Desire and ability to support content creators
  • Strong multi-discipline problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Organized and self-motivated

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $72,000 CAD annual, subject to change. The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. This position is also eligible for discretionary performance bonus program, health benefits, and generous time-off.
