Sessional Instructor: Queer Theories, Faculty of Arts

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Instructor to teach Queer Theories in the Faculty of Arts at OCAD University.
About the PositionThis is a temporary/contract position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and teaching-related responsibilities, including course outline development, studio preparation and delivery, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations/reviews.

- Develop and implement a course outline that aligns with the Faculty of Arts' curriculum and academic standards.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, critiques, and other teaching materials that meet the needs of students.
- Grade student work and provide feedback that is clear, concise, and constructive.
- Conduct mid-term and final evaluations to assess student progress and understanding.
- A terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional/practical experience.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset, but equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment for students, staff, and faculty.
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6, per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
