About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Ledcor Construction, Inc. As a key member of our Infrastructure division, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of various projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans and schedules, ensuring efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and building codes, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Oversee site safety measures, meeting or exceeding corporate safety manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and maintain construction schedules, ensuring milestone and completion dates are met.
  • Manage company vehicles and equipment, planning ahead for equipment requirements and updating equipment logs as needed.
  • Review subtrade/supplier invoices against field purchase orders, reporting discrepancies to the Project Manager or accounting department.
  • Hire and manage hourly employees, maintaining and submitting time cards for job costing purposes.
  • Prepare field change orders for project owner or representative signature when requested.
  • Work with coordinators/engineers to craft and submit RFI's for scope clarification.
  • Develop and implement resource-loaded 3-week look-ahead schedules meeting the overall project schedule.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of construction supervision experience.
  • Previous experience as a GF, Superintendent, or similar direct supervisory role.
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education.
  • Solid understanding of modern construction practices.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Understanding of construction documents and the ability to ensure they are complete, protect the owner's interest, clearly define expectations, and provide incentive to perform.
  • Contract negotiation/management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
  • A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
  • Capacity to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions to non-routine tasks or queries.
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience.
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders.
