Neurosurgery Associate Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Care Specialist to join our Neurosurgery team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our medical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our vision of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in patient rounds and assessments, working closely with attending staff and other care team members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, responding to changing patient conditions and collaborating with attending staff as needed.
- Perform and document admission history and physical examinations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and medication reconciliation, adhering to organizational standards and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Perform procedures within the scope of your demonstrated competence, including insertion of peripheral intravenous lines, initiation of intravenous medication, and removal of cranial access lines.
- Medical degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
- Minimum of two years of accredited postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist, verified by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations.
- Valid Canadian Citizenship, permanent residency, or eligibility to live and work in British Columbia.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC in the Associate Physician class, under sponsorship by Fraser Health Authority.
- Proficiency in the English language, as established by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC English language proficiency requirements.
- Demonstrates leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework, creating conditions for people to succeed.
- Knowledge and skill to diagnose and manage common medical problems in the medical patient.
- Confidence and experience in recognizing and initiating response to emergency situations.
- Ability to recognize medical instability and address initial priorities of resuscitation.
- Excellent English communication skills, including with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Computer and written communication skills, including order entry, clinical documentation, and ability to review relevant diagnostic information and health history.
