Lead Engineer for Conveyance Projects

CIMA+ is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer / Manager specializing in Conveyance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of projects that not only meet but exceed client expectations while achieving targeted profitability. Your commitment to safety will be paramount as you promote our safety policies and foster a culture of care within the team. This position operates in a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee project delivery for planning studies and both preliminary and detailed design phases of municipal water and wastewater conveyance projects.
- Lead the design of site works to support the development of water and wastewater facilities.
- Coordinate and manage project activities with technical teams to ensure compliance with project deliverables, including scope, budget, timeline, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management.
- Support the Field Services team by providing direction and guidance during construction phases.
- Mentor and develop project team members, including junior engineers and technical staff.
- Monitor, control, and report on project performance metrics.
- Ensure timely invoicing and effective cash collection processes.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients throughout project lifecycles.
- Contribute to business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain it.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering design of water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Proven expertise in planning and designing water and wastewater conveyance projects, with a solid understanding of hydraulic principles.
- Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary project teams to produce conceptual and detailed design documents, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong technical writing abilities demonstrated through the preparation of reports and proposals.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to work.
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Effective task planning and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Project.
- Experience in mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
- Involvement with organizations such as OPWA, OWWA, or WEAO is considered a plus.
